Grand Canyon trip Janaury 2010

As we have a cople of extra days this year I am planning to have at least one lay over (possibly 2 depending on time) to have a relaxing day and a chance for some good hiking / exploring…I am thinking of somewhere like Nankoweap / Tanner / Lava Chuar Canyon / Basalt Canyon (Ochoa Point) for the first stop; although these areas are only aroind 50 – 70 river miles from Lee’s Ferry. Another spot further downstream, around RM 133 above Tapeats Creek (camping at Racetrack) for some cool hiking / exploration up Tapeats to Thunder River Spring…In all cases layover camps are going to be good for winter sun!!!.,,and the amount possible depends on time etc….I will keep you informed…

• Lower Ledges, RM 152

• Whitmore Camp, Rm 188
• 202 Mile Camp, RM 202
• 220 Mile Upper Camp, Rm 220

We have all the necesary river guide map books with notes from last year, hiking books etc etc..

Getting excited again…bring it on!!
