Applying for new GC trip!

I really loved the GC trip, and I know we all said that we’d do it again too. I registered  on the National Parks Service Permits site for emails of the upcoming lotteries, and as a future permit applicant. For each permit application there needs to be a Potential Alternature Trip Leaders (PATLs) nominated. These must have registered on the site prior to the lottery being announced. If we are all each others PATLs then there’s no problems! So if you’re interested in another GC trip someway down the line, register at: https://npspermits.us/. We can then set each other as PATLs. Post up if you do apply so we know for the future. Cheers.

Check out http://www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/weightedlottery.htm for more info. Registering or even applying does not commit you to another trip, so there’s nothing to loose :)

    I have registered and will apply when the lottery is open, with only 1 point awarded becasue we were there so recently I am not holding my breath but you know what they say – if you’re not in . . . . .

    Put myself and Mark down for 1 book – intended to get more but they are a bit pricey for this time of the year! Can’t wait to see it.

    I’ve heard the lava falls video clip is great but I can’t bring myself to watch it because I’m not in it!!!!!!! And I was there – really I was!!!

    LOTTERY FOR 2010 NOW OPEN!
    The lottery for 2010 permits is now open – they are taking applications until 24th February.
    I’ve entered for some options in Oct/Nov 2010.
    Like James said – if we use PATL from the group then it increases our chances of going ahead with a trip if a permit is won. So even if you’re not sure if you could go – but maybe would like too – there’s no harm in entering and putting in someone who you know is interested also as your PATL – costs $25 to enter lottery.
